New arrangements for oncology services at MBH
Jul 25, 2016
Mildura Base Hospital has confirmed the departure of oncologist Dr Divy Dua from the Hospital this week.
MBH acting Chief Executive Julia Morgan has confirmed she was informed on Sunday that Dr Divy Dua would not be renewing his contract and would leave MBH today (June 16) to take up another position elsewhere on Monday.
Ms Morgan said the ongoing care of Dr Dua’s MBH public patients was being transferred to the other hospital oncologist, Dr Krishna Rachakonda, and they would continue to have the highest standards of care.
“We’re pleased Dr Krishna has agreed to increase his time commitment to public patients in order to accommodate the additional patients,” Ms Morgan said.
“Dr Krishna is a well-regarded and experienced oncology specialist and we’re pleased he is expanding his role with us,” she said.
“Our oncology patients, families and carers are already going through a difficult time and our key priority is providing them with confidence about their future care.”
Ms Morgan said Mildura physician Dr Terry Cook also provides oncology care and will continue to provide services within the Oncology Unit.
Patients affected by the changes are being contacted directly but patients with inquiries are welcome to contact:
