Statement – Mildura Base Hospital

Mildura Base Hospital has welcomed an increase in its funding from the Victorian health budget, announced today.

Hospital acting chief executive officer Julia Morgan said she was still looking at the detail of the hospital’s budget allocation, but was pleased it contained growth funding.

“Hospital management collaborates extensively with the Government regarding the needs of Mildura and to receive growth funding is definitely a welcome development,” Ms Morgan said.

“While we are continuing to work through the detail of what it means for service delivery, we are confident it will help us to continue providing the high quality care and facilities a growing community needs and expects,” she said.

“The budget response is certainly a pleasing sign that the Government is attentive to the specific needs of Mildura.”
